About Our Beliefs
Rock of Israel is two things at once: it is a Reformed congregation, and it is a Messianic congregation.
As a Messianic congregation, we believe that Jesus (In Hebrew, Yeshua) is the Jewish Messiah, and that not only should Jewish people believe in him, but that by doing so they affirm and confirm their Jewish identify. What could be more Jewish than believing in the Jewish Messiah? We believe that Jewish believers in Messiah have every right to maintain their Jewish identity and to worship in a Jewish way.
As a Reformed congregation, we subscribe entirely to classic statements of faith in Jesus the Messiah, such as the Apostle's Creed; the Nicene Creed, and the Westminster Catechism. Our congregation is a member of the PCA, an American branch of the Reformed faith.
We believe that there is no contradiction between Messianic faith, Reformed theology, or Jewish heritage. The Messiah of Israel is also the Savior of the World. For more information about what we believe, see our FAQ and Resources for Learning pages.
