Proclaiming the Messiah at 21st Century
Crossroads
(March 2001)
In ancient Athens, the place where people went to
communicate was the marketplace. This is where the apostle Paul
went to announce something new to the people of Athens - that there
was a God of heaven and earth who had raised a man from the dead,
and appointed him to rule the world with justice and love.
In today's world, the crossroads of communication
is...the Internet. It is also a place where Messiah is being proclaimed
to the nations.
Now we too are on the Internet. We are Rock of Israel,
a Messianic ministry reaching out to the Russian Jewish immigrant
community of Philadelphia with the love of Jesus. Our new web address
is http://www.RockOfIsrael.com . Check it out!
Our goal is to explain the good news of salvation
to 21st century Russian Jews who do not know the Bible and never
had a believer explain to them about Messiah. They live in Philadelphia
... New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, Kiev, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem. And
there are very few web sites that bring both spiritual milk and
spiritual meat to Russian Jewish people around the world.
The English language side of our web site is self-explanatory.
But let me explain about the Russian side. The gateway is the icon-tab
in the upper right corner that starts with "Pycc", which is the
Russian abbreviation for "Russian". Click there and you will come
to many interesting pages (some of them are still under construction...)
The home page explains about the up-and-coming Rock
of Israel congregation. There are articles about Russian Philadelphia,
the Relevance of Jesus, and Messianic Jews and Christians. There
are evangelistic articles titled The Ten Commandments, Who is a
True Jew? (Fred Klett), and What is Jewish Christianity (by the
martyred Jewish believer Alexander Menn), and others.
There are theological articles on the Image of God
(by our own Ilya Lizorkin), the New Covenant (Greg Killian), Rabbinic
Commentaries on the Messianic Prophecies (John Fischer), Has Israel
Rejected Messiah? (S.Lezov), Basics of Calvinism and Biblical Presbyterianism,
Why We Baptize Our Children (Richard Pratt), and Art in the Bible
(Francis Schaeffer).
Finally, the Apostles Creed, the Heidelburg Catechism,
and the Westminster Confession (with Biblical references), all in
Russian!
Please pray that God would use this web site and
others like it, to rescue many from their lost condition and bring
them to his Son Jesus. (If you would like to share your prayers
with us, please click on "Pray" on our English-language home page).
With Glory to Messiah Jesus!
