Serving Jewish Philadelphia There are more than 300,000
Jewish people living in the greater Philadelphia area, only a small
percentage of whom are believers in Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel. We
support Messianic believers in sharing their faith with our Jewish brothers,
and help equip all believers in Messiah by teaching them about the Jewish
roots of their faith. We celebrate the Jewish holidays and look forward to
the fulfillment of God's plan for His people.
Serving Russian
Philadelphia The city of Philadelphia
has more than 50,000 recent Russian Jewish immigrants, concentrated along
the Bustleton Avenue corridor of Northeast Philadelphia and Bucks County.
This is a self-reliant community, with its own doctors, lawyers, computer
schools, travel agents, health food stores, community centers and Russian
restaurants, radio programs, newspapers and even a Russian TV channel.
Materially speaking, it has adjusted well to conditions in America. But the
spiritual needs are enormous. Jesus wants to transform the Russian Jewish
community in the greater Philadelphia area with His power and love! Living
in a new country and culture can be a challenge, one that people face more
easily when they have the strength of God to help them. We at Rock of Israel seek
to help anyone who comes to us with their spiritual needs, focusing
especially on meeting the spiritual needs of those who come from a Jewish or
Russian immigrant background. We believe that greater Philadelphia needs a
strong Christian Jewish congregation which will help to train leaders who
can serve not only their own congregation but the whole community. |
